Ghaziabad: An illegal call centre was busted in Indirapuram on Tuesday and six people were arrested for allegedly duping Japanese nationals on the pretext of providing them with online technical support. The masterminds are on the run. Ghaziabad SSP Amit Pathak said the raid was carried out by a cyber cell team. Those arrested are Ashish Suri and Vikram Chand, residents of Delhi, Avnish Gupta, who is from Meerut, Edwin George, a resident of Noida, Umesh Negi, who is from Ghaziabad, and Adarsh, originally from Bihar. Abhay Kumar Mishra, in-charge of the cyber cell, said the gang had taken the office space in Indirapuram 18 months ago on rent and started the call centre. “Gaurav Kumar and Ram Kumar, the masterminds, used to gather data of Japanese nationals from some sources and give the same to the tele-callers. Ashish, Avnish, Umesh and Adarsh would call the potential targets.” ....

In a fresh case on Tuesday, the cyber cell team busted a call centre in the Indirapuram region that has cheated the Japanese nationals on the pretext of providing them with online technical support. As per the report, masterminds in connection with fraud are on the run. After receiving a tip-off, the cyber cell team conducted a raid. The accused have been identified as Ashish Suri and Vikram Chand from Delhi, Avnish Gupta who is from Meerut, Edwin George, a resident of Noida, Umesh Negi, who is from Ghaziabad, and Adarsh, originally from Bihar. ....
