NORTHBORO   A man was shot in the leg Monday on the side of the road on Maynard Street and no one has been arrested, authorities said.
The victim was taken to UMass Memorial Health Care Center in Worcester to be treated for the serious leg wound, Northboro Police Chief William Lyver said.
“A passerby put a tourniquet on him,” Lyver said. “It’s too early to say he saved his (the victim’s) life. There was considerable blood loss. He applied the tourniquet a lot sooner than any rescue personnel arrived.”
The shooting occurred on Maynard Street near Beechwood Circle, the chief said. ....
