2023: Council boss blasts Egwu, NASS members, others for politicizing security situation in Ebonyi

THE Chairman of Afikpo South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Dr. Eni Uduma Chima, Thursday blasted some Ebonyi State National Assembly members for playing politics with the security situation in the State.
These National Assembly members led by Dr. Sam Egwu had last Tuesday addressed the Press in Abuja on the security situation in the State with growing concern about the inauguration of the South East Security Network code-named “Ebubeagu” in the State.

Governor Nyesom Wike has blamed mischief makers for viral 2023 presidential campaign posters spotted in some parts of Abuja.
Wike disassociated himself from the campaign posters in a statement issued by the Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Paulinus Nsirim.
DAILY POST reports that campaign posters of Wike with the inscription, ”Rescue Nigeria 2023 from Insecurity, poverty, bandits and killing, were seen on Herbert Macaulay Road, FCT Abuja.
However, Nsirim maintained that Wike is presently preoccupied with his mission to make Rivers State a better place and destination of choice.
He said “For the avoidance of doubt, Governor Wike has not informed anyone that he is interested in the Presidency of this country.

A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ebonyi State has raised alarm over an alleged plot by thugs suspected to be loyal to the state government to set its Secretariat ablaze.
The Caretaker Committee Chairman of PDP, Elder Fred Udeogu, made this known on Monday while speaking to newsmen in Abakaliki.
Udeogu alleged that the Chairman of a faction of the PDP, Chief Onyekachi Nwebonyi, had on Sunday night, led a crowd to the state Secretariat in Abakaliki, in an attempt to burn it down, adding that they were resisted and repelled by party members.
