DIPHU With an aim to boost the living standards of the rural people, Amri Helping Hands Society (AHHS), a rural-based NGO has handed out their helping hands by implementing various livelihoods programmes for women empowerment in the rural areas of Amri and Chinthong block in West Karbi Anglong district of Assam. Presently, AHHS is working with women weavers where 90 SHG members were given the training to establish small units post-training funded by NABARD. The AHHS has also completed their training for 26 SHG members in Ginger processing (Ginger paste and ginger powder) which are already being sold in the market by village youth. Speaking exclusively with Eastern Mirror, President AHHS, Binolin Phangchopi said that AHHS is an NGO working for holistic development and upliftment of the rural mass with the help and coordination from various government departments and individual collaborators. ‘It was a humble beginning where few educated, determined youths thought of giving the livin ....
