Passengers coming from London of the United Kingdom (UK) to Bangladesh will have to stay in seven-day quarantine.
Md Mokabbir Hossain, Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, said the decision of the government will implement immediately.
The decision of 14-day institutional quarantine was taken on December 28, last year for the passengers coming from the UK to Bangladesh, so that new strain of coronavirus does not spread in the country.
Cabinet secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam, at a press conference on that day, said, “The flight will remain operational. But all UK returnees will stay in 14-day quarantine. The passengers will be kept at Ashkona Hajj Camp and Diabari of Uttara in the capital for quarantine under the government management. RT-PCR test mandatory for UK returnees to Karnataka
With the resumption of passenger flights from the United Kingdom to India and the first flight to Bengaluru scheduled early on Sunday, Karnataka Health Minister K. Sudhakar said on Saturday that all UK returnees will have to undergo RT-PCR test on arrival, for which necessary arrangements are in place. The first flight from the UK will land at around 4 am on Sunday. According to airport officials, it will be a full flight with about 330 passengers. Even if they have a Covid negative report from there, they will again have to mandatorily undergo RT-PCR test on arrival, said Sudhakar, who had gone to the Kempe Gowda International Airport to oversee the preparations.

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], January 9 (ANI): Karnataka Health Minister Dr.K.Sudhakar on Saturday said that all UK returnees have to undergo the RT-PCR test.
According to a press statement, after a temporary ban on flights from the UK, flight operations have resumed on Saturday and Kempegowda International Airport (KIAL) is all set to receive first set of passengers on Sunday morning.
Health Minister Dr K.Sudhakar visited KIAL and reviewed the arrangements for screening returning passengers.
All flights are coming in full capacity with 300-350 passengers in each flight, said Dr K.Sudhakar after speaking to airport officials.
