An email announcement said a former employee accessed medical records outside the scope of their duties but did not specify who the worker was or what role he or she filled. Associate Director of UF Health Communications, Megan Kimmel MacPherson, said employment information was confidential.
Demographic and clinical information, like names, addresses, phone numbers, birthdays and lab results were among the data breached from patients files between March 30, 2019, and April 6, 2021. Social Security numbers, insurance details and other financial information were not, according to the notice.
