National program on natural farming begins at SKUAST-K

Chairman/CEC convenes a meeting with the officials of the ICAR New Delhi

Leh, June 14 (Scoop News)-Chairman/CEC, Tashi Gyalson convened a meeting with the officials of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) New Delhi, as well as representatives from SKUAST-K and SKUAST Leh. The meeting aimed to address the operations and functionalities of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) units and research stations based in Leh, and to discuss future plans for Ladakh. Executive Councillor for Agriculture, Stanzin Chosphel, and Executive Councillor for Horticulture, Ghulam Mehdi were present during the meeting.

During the meeting, CEC Gyalson emphasised the importance of maintaining the existing functionalities and operations of KVKs and research stations in Leh. He suggested that until a major apportionment is undertaken for Ladakh in the future, the current systems should remain in place. This approach would ensure continuity and stability in agricultural research and extension services in the region.
