The iconic Victoria horse carriages are going to make a comeback on the Mumbai’s streets but without the horses. MUMBAI: Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday launched the electric Victoria carriages at Varsha, his official residence. Transport minister Anil Parab and tourism minister Aaditya Thackeray were also present when CM Thackeray handed over keys of the carriages to riders of the old horse driven carriages. The city’s iconic Victoria horse carriages are going to make a comeback on the city’s streets but without the horses. The state’s transport department had recently cleared a proposal to allow electric Victoria carriages to run around the Gateway of India where traditional Victoria horse carriages ran for close to a century. ....
