LONG BEACH, NY A planned Sunset Party featuring recent more than 2,000 high school graduates from throughout the area took a turn when shots were fired, Long Beach police said.
Police were on hand to provide crowd control had closed the boardwalk and Ocean Beach Park at 11 p.m. Sunday.
However, just after midnight, with the partygoers mostly dispersed, shots were fired in the vicinity of West Broadway and West Penn Street, police said.

EVESHAM - Police have arrested three suspects and are seeking a fourth after an early-morning shooting here.
Tyreek Williams, 20, of Philadelphia is wanted in connection with an incident at the Olympus Apartments on Baker Boulevard, according to Evesham police.
Officers responded to the complex after bullet casings were found in the street around 8 a.m. on Feb. 9, said a police account.
An investigation determined shots were fired at the exterior of an apartment around seven hours earlier, it said. Investigation determined that a specific apartment was targeted by the shooter, the account said.
Williams is being sought on charges of aggravated assault and a weapons offense, according to Evesham police.
