Saturday, April 10, 2021 9:15 pm Chief Warrant Officer (CWO4) James Franklin Shields, 90, of Goodlettsville, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021, at a medical facility in Gallatin. He served with the 3rd Mission Battalion, 79th Artillery, for 25 years on active duty and then served out the rest of his military career with the 3397th United States Army Reserve Garrison in Chattanooga. He served in combat during the Korean Conflict and also served as an ROTC instructor at Chattanooga Central High School for many years. He was an active member for many years at the American Legion Blair Post 95 in Chattanooga. He was a wonderful gardener, a beekeeper and a self-taught carpenter. He had many passions in life, but none more important than his family. ....
Tindell, Loreen Esther Wednesday, December 23, 2020 Loreen (Esther) Tindell On December 21, 2020 Loreen (Esther) Tindell went home to be with her Lord and Savior after a brief illness.
She was a lifelong member of Silverdale Baptist Church having joined with her family in 1955. Over the last 60 years, she served her Lord and Savior in many ways such as Sunday School teacher, committee member, pre-school teacher, but serving as church librarian for over 40 years was her greatest joy.
In her later years, she became very interested in genealogy and was a proud member of the First Families of Tennessee.
She is preceded in death by her husband of almost 70 years, Howard Bud Tindell and her parents, Frank and Mary Drehmer. ....
