(WTOC) - Throughout the pandemic, a lot of businesses relied on online sales, but for some of the new businesses or those without a big online presence, it was more difficult. For businesses that are on Tybee Island or in Savannah, they’re going to get some help building their online presence. This will be through various virtual trainings on e-commerce and marketing. Tybee Island businesses were surveyed by the Main Street Program when the pandemic started. One of the most common needs they had was for more business training to help them get through future hardships, like another shutdown. ....

(WTOC) - There are signs all over Tybee Island reminding people that parking is not free. In fact, people are required to pay to park seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. year round. However, during the holidays Tybee announced free parking city-wide, but people still fed the machines. From November 26 to the first day of the new year, no matter where you parked, you didn’t have to pay. The free parking note was displayed on the machine to pay, but one person we spoke to overlooked this before it was too late and the city’s parking records show he wasn’t the only one. ....
