The backup appeared to be northbound only. The Mississippi Department of Transportation said a crash caused the backup. However, WTVA was initially unable to locate a crash using MDOT s nearby traffic cameras or the WTVA tower cam, which is capable of viewing traffic in north Tupelo. Tupelo Police Capt. Chuck McDougald later clarified a wreck happened overnight in the northbound lane between Interstate 22 and Barnes Crossing Road. ....
