Torrential rain overnight has left several roads on the Cooley peninsula impassable, with fears that high tides at midday will cause further flooding in Carlingford and Omeath.

Councillors have raised concerns over fires on the Cooley mountains and have called for action to find out who started them and for it to be prevented from happening again.
Councillors raised the issue at the recent Louth County Council meeting after firefighters battled blazes at Tullagh Bridge, The turf Road and the Long Woman’s Grave recently.
Cllr Marianne Butler said it is “idiocy” and has to stop while Cllr Antoin Watters called for action to ensure the fires that happened last year on the Cooley Peninsula don’t happen again.
