Tulip Time is back, drawing tourists to Holland again
This week, the city is welcoming visitors back with open arms for a scaled-down Tulip Time festival.
Local hotel rooms are sold out for the night of May 1, the first official day of Tulip Time, according to Holland Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Linda Hart.
Although going into next weekend s hotel occupancy rates are lower than what the area normally sees during the festival, Hart said she expects a lot of this year s visitors are coming from other parts of Michigan and the Midwest and may book their rooms last-minute. It could be that people are waiting to decide whether to come, Hart said.
