The truck fire on the N3 at Van Reenen’s Pass has been put out.
Clean-up operations have now begun.
A tanker and another heavy-duty vehicle collided this morning.
Both trucks caught alight, resulting in the road being closed.
It caused a 10km back-up in the southbound carriageway - while traffic was backed up for six kays in the opposite direction.
The N3 Toll Concession says the southbound lanes at the pass are expected to be re-opened shortly - with the northbound lanes running contraflow.
