Japan Atomic Power Company will pull the plug or Tsuruga Nuclear Power Plant in the same prefecture. After the accident at Fukushima Daiichi four years ago the government limited Nuclear Reactors to a 40year lifespan unless they meet tougher safety standards. Officials at the ministry of economy, trade and industry have been urging operators to decide what to do with reactors that have already passed that age.
