In the mid-1990s, Betsy Pratt, then-owner of Mad River Glen, did something many businesspeople would consider unthinkable. She turned down a lucrative offer to sell.
“She created a sense of family among the staff that is unsurpassed,” said Eric Friedman, executive director of the Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce. “I’m so fortunate to have worked in a place that cared about the people so much.”
