TRUSSVILLE Magnolia Elementary School recently received a generous donation. Cathy Peters and Susan Conway, officers in the Trussville Literary Club, have presented a $450 donation in an effort to support reading and literacy at the local school. The local organization’s support will benefit the Magnolia Elementary library. These funds, according to the club, will be used to purchase new books, which will be enjoyed by students and teachers for years to come. Magnolia operates under Trussville City Schools, offering classes for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. ....
Here are the Alabama 2021-22 Teacher of the Year finalists Updated May 11, 2021; Reflecting on his experiences as the most recent finalist, and Alabama’s current Teacher of the Year, Dr. Andrew Jackson said, “Congratulations to these highly skilled educators, who have been selected to represent their local school systems and our regional education districts. Each of these Alabama Teacher of the Year 16 Finalists truly demonstrate outstanding classroom leadership and are elevating our profession to new levels of success.” The pool of candidates will be narrowed to the top four by a state-level committee. The 2021-22 Alabama Teacher of the Year will be announced in August. ....
From The Tribune staff reports TRUSSVILLE The Trussville City Schools Foundation announced $12,000 was raised during Casino Night on Saturday, May 1, 2021. The event was held at Ferus Artisan Ales. Leslie Armstrong, with the foundation, said the fundraiser was made possible thanks to the many sponsors of the event and participants who purchased tickets. “Trussville City Schools Foundation would like to say thank you to our sponsors for their continued support to the Foundation as well as each ticket buyer,” said Armstrong. “We understand there are many non-profit groups that you could contribute to and we are extremely grateful that you have chosen us.” ....
