Well, now on booktv, we want to introduce you to brett weinstein. He, along with his wife, heather hyang, have written this book, a hunter gatherers guide to the 21st century. Professor weinstein, you mentioned in the book that you could have named it something different, such as a post industrialist guide to the 21st century. Why did you call it a hunter gatherers guide . Well, the idea is that we move evolutionarily through different stages and at the moment we do not hunt and gather. We go to supermarkets for our food. But much of our history was spent in that hunter gatherer phase, and we carry many of the adaptation that were built in that environment into the present. But thats true of all the other environments that weve been through as well. And so we focused on the hunter gatherer ancestry because it was such a long period and therefore has a lot to say about how were built. But it is by far not the only environment thats relevant.
