Jeremy Corbyn MP - Credit: PA/Neil Jones Young people joined Jeremy Corbyn and other MPs on a call to discuss issues the younger generation are facing during the coronavirus pandemic. The meeting saw a group of ten meet four MPs - including the Islington North MP alongside East Ham MP Stephen Timms, Harlow MP Robert Halfon and Ealing, Southall MP Virendra Sharma - to discuss the results of a recent poll. More than 6,000 young people took part in the Jack Petchey Foundation s research, the Covid-19 Youth Survey, which found more than half of respondents had helped others during the pandemic and wanted more opportunities to contribute in their community. ....

Jack Petchey Foundation double commitment to internship programme THE Jack Petchey Foundation has doubled its commitment to its internship programme in 2021 to support 40 year-long paid internships in the youth sector across London and Essex. The programme is now open for youth organisations working with young people in London and/or Essex to apply for funds to create an internship. Organisations should apply before January 15th via the Foundation’s website. We are particularly interested in receiving more applications from Essex-based youth organisations. The programme has been expanded in light of the Jack Petchey Foundation’s recent Shaping Our Future survey of over 6,000 young people from London and Essex, which found that over half of young people want more opportunities for work experience, paid internships, training and career advice. ....
