Steady rain all morning and well into the afternoon, that made the commute messy for drivers but did create a picture perfect opportunity for photographers. There was a rainbow in campbell. Meteorologist sandhya patel is tracking the next round of rain with live doppler 7. Well be seeing more rainbows like that and as you look at live doppler 7, it was a lot quieter than it was earlier today. We take you into where were still seeing drippy conditions. Isolated showers. Right around the western addition, chinatown, light returns in the east bay, chestnut street, broadway. And as we head into the south bay, around mt. Hamilton, a few showers showing up. And 4th. Elissa . We just saw water crews trying to plug up a valve at the intersection. There is a lot of work to do. They cannot turn off the water completely so they are trying to reduce the pressure. Is for they have had some success. It is drying it burst at 3 00 a. M. And either was either 8 main or 12 main. We do not know the reason. The points are old and there has been cold weather and a lot of underground work going on. This will keep the crews here for several hours. It is shutting down the major intersection with water rushing into the underground parking lot into the underground parking lot of the it will be a mess around here. Traffic is going to be an issue. I am sure they are work on the Department Left the scene and right now there are police and Water Department out here. I am told they do have a handle on this and have been able to reduce the pressure to a point where they are now able to try and determine the cause and get this area cleaned up and make sure it is sa
At the intersection. It is amazing to see this. It is a busy area next to the Moscone Center and center and we have seen children on field trips walk past this. Despite the work, the city is still moving. The water has been rerouted so people would live and work in the area should not be see their service affected. The intersection at 4th and howard in San Francisco looks different at 3 00 a. M. A water main burst in the middle of the street. It let out a nonstop flow of water for an hour plodding flooding the busy area. The water rushed into the parking garage flooding the loading dock and the subway project was impacted. It is underwater, 1 foot underwater. All the worker said the tunnel quickly filled up. We have three levels and each flooded. The bottom is 1 foot under water. It was a 12 water main that burst. All the pipeline that broke dates back to 1895. When you have a pipeline that old age is the likely factor. Traffic control is diverting cars around the area. Repairs are exp
