Veterinarians Without Borders (VWB) announced the launch of a new award program. The Access to Care Awards will provide scholarships and bursaries to individuals living in the North with educational pursuits in animal health and wellness.
In late December, Anson Chappell brought his dog's ashes back to the place she loved the most. It was an act of remembrance for a pet who helped to shape his life, and a reminder of how hard it is to say goodbye.

The temperature rests below -30C as Muaz Hassan walks toward the former Unity Store in Fort Simpson, N.W.T., that s been turned into a warming shelter.
It s Friday afternoon, just hours before the shelter opens its doors for the first time.
Hassan has been leading the charge in getting the the shelter ready in his store s previous location, in a building that he owns.
