Crews responded about 1:30 p.m. Friday to the house at 109 Pine Forge Road to find fire venting from windows and doors on the first floor with significant fire in the front left corner of the residence extending to the second floor, Janssen said. The residents were out and volunteers tried to rescue a dog but the pet perished, he said. Some of the second floor partially collapsed and forced firefighters to evacuate.
