SEPTA's new website will launch Thursday after undergoing a comprehensive redesign. Along with improvements and better performance on mobile devices, the new website aims to prepare riders for the transition to 'SEPTA Metro,' the color-coded wayfinding plan that will be introduced next year. SEPTA hopes new terminology will make transit lines more easily recognizable to Regional Rail, bus, subway and trolley riders.
SEPTA is delaying the return of its classic trolley cars until later this fall because more operators need to undergo training. They were expected to return Sunday, Sept. 10; a new date has not been set. The trolleys, acquired in 1947 and used on SEPTA's Route 15, were pulled from the tracks in January 2020 to undergo renovations.
The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority went back to the drawing board with its Bus Revolution system redesign after an initial round of feedback completed earlier this year.
