The two chain snatchers, Narendra and Narayana, were convicted and got seven years of jail time. A whopping 3.5kg of gold ornaments were recovered from them. Interestingly, these chain snatchers were brothers of a politician who later contested the Karnataka assembly polls.
The complainant stated that he has been working as an assistant security officer at Namma Metro Station, situated on MG Road, and holding additional charge of security at Trinity Metro Station. He claimed that he was informed by a security officer about the wooden scaffolding falling on the viaduct at 3:50 pm on September 12.
