A Trigg County woman who was wanted for questioning in connection to the murder of Thelma “Illene” Barnett has been indicted and officially charged in connection to the crime. Keisha Stewart was indicted by the Trigg County Grand Jury Wednesday. Commonwealth’s Attorney Carrie Ovey-Wiggins told the News Edge the charges are related to her alleged connection to the September 16 murder on Will Jackson Road. Ovey-Wiggins added Stewart would be arraigned in Trigg County Circuit Court in April. The full details of the indictment have not been released. Stewart was wanted for questioning by Kentucky State Police concerning the crime and was arrested on a warrant for an unrelated theft of a motor vehicle charge on December 4. ....

McCoy will appear virtually in Trigg County Circuit Court for arraignment Wednesday. He was not arrested on the murder and other charges from the death of Barnett until September 30. McCoy was arrested on September 22, following a traffic stop by the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office near the intersection of U.S. 68 and Blue Springs Road, but was charged with an active warrant from another case, drug-related charges, and in relation an EBT card in his possession that was not his. In addition, McCoy was indicted by a Lyon County Grand Jury last week on charges of receiving stolen property under $10,000, second-degree arson, and first-degree persistent felony offender. ....
