Two subjects were arrested in connection with the stolen vehicle and possession of controlled substances. Justin Fletcher, 29, of Denton, Texas has been charged with two Class D Felonies for Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class D Felony of Tampering with a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree and a misdemeanor for Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond has been set at $25,000 cash only. Victoria Chapman, 19, of Columbia, Missouri is charged with a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance and two misdemeanor charges. Chapman posted $15,000 Personal Recognizance Bond on February 11. Preliminary Hearing Setting for Chapman is set for 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 17. Both cases are scheduled to be held at Saline County Circuit Court. ....
Two Hughesville residents are facing felony charges for allegedly forcing their way into an apartment and one of them assaulting the apartment’s resident on August 6 in Sweet Springs. According to a police report, the resident said she was woken from sleep to loud banging on her door. She said as soon as she attempted to open the door, it was forced open, knocking her backwards. The victim identified Jodie Cornine as the woman who ran through the door and began assaulting her. According to the victim, Michael Cornine, the father of Jodie Cornine, was blocking the doorway, sealing her only access to safety. Michael Cornine was also reportedly in possession of a large pistol. ....
