Is seeking a trial date of march. that seems reasonable, but i d be surprised if it actually goes that quickly. with 19 defendants, it will be difficult just to get them all a range, get them all lawyers, go through the discovery process and motions. but she needs to keep the heat on. i m sure many of these defendants will ultimately enter a guilty plea based solely on statistics. 90 did 95% of defendants plead guilty. so that number will be paired down to the remaining defendants who remain for trial. i think they should set a timely trial date, aiming for sometime in the spring or summer. but tragedies are kind of meant to be adjourned, and so the first date seems to be unlikely to be the last, just because all of those emotions, as they unfold, will be difficult to predict. somebody gets covid, illness of a party, all those things could delay the trial. but there s no reason this trial can t be done before november of 2024. david, there are many
