Michael Nutter, the former mayor of Philadelphia, was tapped by the U.S. Treasury Department to co-chair its first advisory committee on racial equity. The 25-member panel will examine barriers to economic participation among communities of color, including housing stability, economic development, access to capital and financial inclusion. Nutter, now a professor at Columbia University, will co-chair the panel with Felicia Wong, president and CEO of the Roosevelt Foundation.
The new committee will advise on topics such as economic development and access to capital, seeking to address racial inequalities in the domestic economy.
