Dorset charity to employ 30 young people

A DORSET children’s hospice charity is looking to fill 30 vacancies in its stores as part of a government scheme which helps young people at risk of unemployment gain valuable skills. The vacancies are in Julia s House 12 high street shops across Dorset and Wiltshire as well as other areas of Julia’s House retail. Those on the placements will join a training programme to help them gain experience and knowledge in different aspects of the charity retail sector. The government’s Kickstart Scheme, which has been underway since September, is aiming to help get young people who have been some of the hardest hit by the economic impact of the pandemic on the first rung of the career ladder.
