Voters will pick nominees for races that include a seat on the state Supreme Court, as well as for Allegheny County executive and district attorney. Officials say they expect a turn-out in Allegheny County of around 30 percent.
Candidates can be removed from the ballot for such problems as not having enough valid signatures on petitions, or failing to hand in paperwork on time. Several Pittsburgh hopefuls faced court challenges regarding such issues, but most have survived for now.
