Introducing the 2021 Victoria Landscape Architecture Awards Winners!

Jarrod Reedie The Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) has announced this year’s honours list for the 2021 Victoria Landscape Architecture Awards, with the winners of their respective categories praised for their collaborative and placemaking efforts, as well as a commitment to community. AILA recognised seven Awards of Excellence and 11 Landscape Architecture awards spanning 13 categories, as those that went above and beyond the sole purpose of their project rewarded for their efforts.   The virtual event commended the outstanding individual contributions of architects to the profession, for their commitment to supporting public life as critical to both the revitalisation and recovery plan of Victoria’s cities and economy.

A new look for one of Australia's most iconic addresses

Waverley Council Waverley Council is tomorrow, Wednesday 28 April, celebrating the transformation of one of Australia’s most famous and picturesque streets. The Council recently completed its streetscape and safety upgrade of Notts Avenue, Bondi Beach, home to the iconic Bondi Icebergs at the northern entrance to the renowned Bondi to Bronte Coastal Walk. The upgrade includes a spectacular new cantilevered northern lookout, shade structure, mature palm trees, new paving and a 10km/h shared traffic zone. Mayor of Waverley, Paula Masselos, said the final design for the stunning upgrade had been informed by two rounds of community consultation, with almost all (98.3%) of people who provided feedback in favour of Council’s plans for the upgrade.
