Prince Zolile Burns-Ncamashe will be sworn in as an MP next week - replacing Gwede Mantashe s sister, Tozama Mantashe.
Tozama Mantashe died in hospital on 31 January after battling Covid-19.
Burns-Ncamashe, 55, served Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini s late sister, Queen Noloyiso Sandile of the AmaRharhabe, as an advisor and spokesperson.
Well-known Eastern Cape traditional leader Prince Zolile Burns-Ncamashe will be sworn in as an MP next week - replacing Gwede Mantashe s sister, Tozama Mantashe, who died of Covid-19.
Tozama, a former deputy president of Nehawu and provincial executive committee member of the ANC in the Eastern Cape, died on 31 January.
Burns-Ncamashe s swearing-in was confirmed to News24 by ANC provincial secretary in the Eastern Cape Lulama Ngcukayithobi. ....

The number of Covid-19 related cases identified in South Africa on Monday has dropped to 2 548 from 4 525 on Sunday.
A total of 235 new fatalities were reported, compared to 213 on Sunday: Western Cape 64, Eastern Cape 59, Gauteng 51, North West 33, Free State 16, KwaZulu-Natal 10 and Northern Cape 2.
This brings the total number of Covid-19 deaths to 44 399. The number of recoveries now stand at 1 306 022, representing a recovery rate of 89%.
The cumulative total of tests conducted to date is 8 300 749, with 21 549 new tests recorded since the last report.
President Cyril Ramaphosa said on Monday night that over the past seven days, the country had seen a steady decline in infections from an average of more than 10 000 to 5 500. ....

The ANC has passed condolences to the family of its chairperson, Gwede Mantashe, after the passing of his sister Tozama Mantashe from Covid-19 related complications.
Tozama was a MP serving in the trade and industry portfolio committee.
Her death was announced by the party in parliament through a statement on Monday.
“As the ANC parliamentary caucus, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the entire Mantashe family, her brother, our national chairperson comrade Gwede Mantashe, minister of mineral resources and energy, as well as her children and loved ones,” the party s parliamentary spokesperson Nomfanelo Kota said in a statement. ....
