Mayor Suthers Selects New Fire Chief In Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Mayor John Suthers announced today his appointment of Deputy Fire Chief Randy Royal as the new Colorado Springs Fire Chief following Chief Ted Collas retirement on March 5. This appointment is pending confirmation by City Council. Chief Royal has served in the Colorado Springs Fire Department since 1987 and is currently the Deputy Chief of Operations.

Randy s leadership and tremendous work throughout his 34 years with the Colorado Springs Fire Department, have prepared him to lead the department on its continued path of excellence, said Mayor John Suthers.
