HANOVER TWP. â More than 100 of Hanover Township first responders will soon have better protection from COVID-19 exposure with a $25,000 grant to go toward the purchase of a new respiratory protection fit-tester machine by Fire District No. 3 â The Cedar Knolls Fire Department. According to the township, the equipment will be financed through a $25,000 grant from Bayer Fund, a philanthropic arm of Bayer Healthcare on Whippany Road. The fit-tester tests personal protective equipment (PPE). Bayer Fund announced the grant on Dec. 4, 2020 to support all of Hanover Townshipâs emergency management personnel. The fit-tester will be located in the Cedar Knolls Fire House on Ridgedale Avenue, affording access for use by the firefighters and emergency medical technicians of District No. 3, Fire District No. 2 â The Whippany Fire Department â and Hanover Township departments of Police, Health and Office of Emergency Management. ....
