Property assessment notices were mailed out to property owners on March 5. CAO Kim Neill reported to Hanna Town council at their March 9 meeting that residential assessments decreased by $3,240,610 to $169,475,900 o $166,235,290, and non residential assessments decreased by $1,157,990 from $66,961,490 to $65,803,500, for a total decrease of $4,398,600.
Neill told council the important part of that was that the Town establishes how much tax revenue it requires to operate and then uses the assessed values to adjust the tax rate to achieve this revenue.
