Suite à l’assassinat par balles du DGNS, Ali Tounsi, le 25 février dans son bureau par le colonel Oultache, 64 ans, chef de la division aérienne de la police, le ministre de l’intérieur, Yazid Zerhouni a annoncé dans un communiqué que l’assassin a été pris par « une crise de démence » au moment des faits et qu’il s’agit d’ « une affaire personnelle » entre les deux hommes.
La famille de la victime sort du silence pour démentir la version officielle dans un communiqué adressé à la presse. « Son épouse et la famille tiennent à préciser que le défunt a été assassiné froidement, lâchement et en toute conscience dans son bureau de la Direction Générale de la Sûreté Nationale, alors qu’il s’apprêtait à tenir une réunion avec les directeurs centraux. Il est mort « debout » dans son bureau, en patriote, ....
