April is Autism Awareness Month

âIn recognition of April being Autism Awareness Month, Jess created âMystic.â
âA common symbol for autism is a puzzle piece. Notice Jessâ painting, which includes subtle representations of autism by inserting small puzzle pieces into her artwork.
âSheila Biggs, Jessâ mother, said Jess is not autistic, however, she does have siblings of friends who are. âSheâs always been very empathetic toward autistic people,â she said.
âHer piece is called Mystic because Mystic has a special gift to understand autistic people. Biggs said the hardest thing for autistic people is to communicate to others what they are thinking inside.
âJess started her artwork when she was 11 and she is the youngest artist at the gallery, which gives 25 percent of proceeds to a different charity every quarter. She uses computer software Procreate to create her digital artwork on her tablet. ....
