Never has a spring been more anticipated. While usually the prospect of lighter evenings, the popping through the soil of dormant daffodils and the clocks changing is symbolic of release, this year it comes with the promise of actual escape.
Soon the shackles of lockdown will be loosened. Freedom beckons. And for men like me there is an additional bonus. Something that brings with it a sound even sweeter that the chirrup of a blue tit. The turn of a key, the yank of a cord, the squeeze of choke, the ease of the throttle. Yes, lads, it’s mowey time.
