Out to all of the vike the vis for this terrible tragedy. hello, everyone, i m kate bolduan. we ve been watching, this is an update from the new york governor and new york officials on the truly historic storm that we have been watching play out overnight. just before that we heard from the governor of new jersey and other local officials giving very much the same update. they were standing in front of a home that was wiped out from a tornado. flooding in places that flooding doesn t happen at those levels. tornados in places where tornados don t happen. that is what we are seeing play out all across the northeast. and what we ve been watching here on the other side of your screen, wpvi, i m trying to get exactly where it is, in the state of pennsylvania where we do know that active water rescues are underway. this is a dire situation unfoemding at this hour.
Unusual. we ll have a problem and it will effect new york city and then another day you ll affect philadelphia. but you don t have a problem like this effecting everybody from next to philadelphia and further up north. so that is the unusual part of this. it really will test our resources. new york city has enormous resources, philadelphia has it also. a lot of towns in between don t. so you have a volunteer fire department so they re out there and everybody is doing their thing and the national guard will be in. but in new york city, and i m sure it is the same way in philadelphia, the same old subway system and the same issues that you have to get people to work and it is something that just doesn t dry out immediately. this is all electrical conduit. you need electricians and experts to come in. everybody dos is going to want them at the same time.
