The Pueblo Hispanic Education Foundation (PHEF) announced four new members to its board of directors for 2021.
PHEF, a foundation committed to securing funds and other educational support for low- to moderate-income students, has helped award $4.1 million in scholarships to students since it was established in 1988.
Janelle Quick, the organization’s executive director, said that every November the board of directors hosts a retreat where new officers for the upcoming year are nominated and then elected.
Those serving on the executive committee for 2021 include Richard Duran, CEO, Chavez Huerta Preparatory Academy K-12; Derek Lopez, director, Center for Academic Enrichment, Colorado State University Pueblo; Juan Diosdado, staffing coordinator, Top-Notch Personnel; and Lisa Garcia-Payne, owner of Mi Casa Transitional Services.
