Ohad Guzi, operator of eight South Florida-based moving companies, has been hit with a $21.7 million judgment and lifetime ban from the moving industry in a civil suit initiated by the Florida Attorney General's Office. The judgment marked the second court loss and multimillion dollar fine for Guzi within four months.
Delivery services were outsourced to third parties unknown to the consumer, the cost of service was initially guaranteed, only to be drastically raised on moving day after loading possessions onto trucks. Consumers often had to wait many weeks past the promised delivery date to receive their belongings.
