Padahal UU Nomor 16 Tahun 2019 tentang perubahan atas Undang-Undang No.1 tahun 1974 sudah menetapkan usia 19 tahun sebagai batas minimal usia perkawinan, baik laki-laki maupun perempuan.
“Persoalannya menurut kami adalah adanya nomenklatur dispensasi yang pada akhirnya tetap melanggengkan perkawinan anak. Dispensasi ini menjadi masalah jika para hakim tidak memiliki pemahaman yang sama tentang semangat pencegahan perkawinan anak dalam Undang-Undang Perkawinan yang telah diperbaharui ini. Sehingga dalam praktiknya dispensasi perkawinan diberikan tanpa persyaratan yang ketat,” ujar Juru Bicara DPP PSI Mary Silvita, kepada wartawan, Jumat (23/7/2021) ....
