Anthony and Alvin Kassab, who were 16 and 15 at the time of the incident last September, and their parents face criminal charges for an alleged attack on officers in front of their home on Clear Spring Lane near 23 Mile and Shelby roads in response to 911 calls about someone firing an air-soft rifle at people in the area from a Cadillac Escalade.
The boys' attorneys’ request to adjourn the hearing was granted by juvenile Referee Michael Gibbs after informing him they had recently received additional “discovery” in the case.
The boys and their parents are charged for their alleged attack on Shelby Township officers who responded in September to their home near 23 Mile and Shelby roads on reports of gunshots being fired randomly from a vehicle in the area, according to police.
Assistant Macomb Prosecutor Tonya Goetz did not object to the adjournment, noting that officers are gathering information for potential restitution in the case.
