A vodka-fuelled rapist who subjected a child to grave sexual abuse and four people who hunted down a doting dad and murdered him were just some of the criminals locked up in the region in April.
Greater Manchester courts gave out hefty prison sentences for all manner of crimes last month.
Other offenders put behind bars include a road rage thug who left a man for dead and a paedophile who asked his victim s mum not to tell police he sexually assaulted her child. ....

Man pulled over with 15 kilograms of cannabis claims it was for personal use

Partington, who has 16 previous offences on his record, initially told officers that the pot was for personal use during the lockdown. However, during questioning, he admitted to dealing the drugs and said that his initial statement was a joke.
The weed has an estimated value of £150,000 ($260,000). Both men received jail sentences of more than two years.
Defence lawyer Brendan O’Leary said Partington was attempting to repay a debt with the weed, after previously serving a jail sentence for producing cannabis.
“This man has ability, and he has intelligence. He is the father of a seven-year-old daughter and says the loss of contact with his daughter in custody is tough, as he has only been able to have telephone contact. He knows he only has himself to blame. He hopes he can use his talent and put his ability in plastering to proper use,” O’Leary said. ....
