'Visit elsewhere if there's no parking available'

The National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) has asked the public not to visit Tomies Wood if parking is not available.
The advice comes just weeks after the popular Beaufort beauty spot re-opened to the public with a new access road and car park.
However, since the re-opening of the walking loop, there has been parking chaos, with many cars forced to park along the narrow roadside leading up to the facility due to the lack of spaces in the brand-new car park.
€800,000 was spent on developing an access road and 26-space car park at Tomies over the past year. Access has been an issue for some time, closing off the popular wood and O Sullivan s cascade to the public for several years. ....

Kerry's great outdoors have never been better

Now the county has even more to offer with the official opening of new amenities.
Last week Minister of State for Housing, Local Government and Heritage Malcolm Noonan visited Kerry to officially open the long-awaited access to Tomies Wood.
The new route, along with the 26-space car park, now means locals and visitors can enjoy access to one of Kerry treasures.
Access issues have meant that the attraction was off-limits but, thanks to major funding, everyone can now enjoy the wonderful amenity in Beaufort.
Minister Noonan also paid a visit to another wonderful amenity revamped to provide access to the community: Blue Pool Nature Trail. ....
