The procedure of creating fractures in rocks by injecting a substance. This is 45 minutes from the Annapolis Book festival. Good afternoon. I am a professor at the school of Public Health. I teach environmental and Occupational Health sciences. I am hear to moderate the panel on fracking with our guest. I will give a brief overview of fracking and terms and then each author will give their discussion and then we will take questions. If you think you have a question we ask you to come up to the mike. The term is short for hydraulic fracturing which is a technical term used by the oil and gas industry for shell gas extraction. It can be spelled with a c.
