thanks to general petraeus. the truest test of a commander is whether he is worthy of the sacrifice made by those he leads, whether the young men and women who we call upon day in and day out to risk their lives for us feel that their commander offers the same degree of devotion as they do. we are fortunate that general petraeus is such a commander. it s congress highest priority to be just as worthy as the sacrifices made by the men and women of our armed forces and to provide them with everything they need to succeed in their mission of defending our nation. so let me take this opportunity to say again that we urgently need to pass a full year appropriations bill on defense for the remainder of fiscal year 2011 as the secretary of defense has repeatedly called for. it is irresponsible to continue funding our fellow americans fighting two wars through piece meal continuing resolutions that do not meet their full needs. perhaps the greatest need of all right now is win ....
