This stump is all that is left of Tom Lounsbury s ash tree, which once provided wonderful shade to the back deck. However, a shoot came up from it, which, hopefully, with the support of the original root system, will become a future shade tree again. Nothing ventured, nothing gained! Veritas builds digital compliance tech stack, goes all in

Veritas, fresh on the heels of its acquisition last year of data collection technology Globanet, is positioning itself as the only company to offer a full stack of digital compliance capabilities to meet a growing need for compliance to meet the exploding growth of data.

“With the new normal in the workforce, no business can afford to not be concerned about digital compliance,” Bhatia told CRN. “It’s a US$6-billion business now, and will grow to US$10 billion in the next few years. This is very much front and center with what we are trying to do.” ....

Randy Claramunt of MDNR Fisheries shows a dandy lake trout he caught in Lake Huron, near Grindstone City. Due to invasive species such as the sea lamprey, as well as over-fishing, the lake trout was nearly eliminated in Michigan by the mid-20th century. But thanks to planting hatchery fish on a regular basis, it was brought back from the brink and is now flourishing and featuring natural reproduction. Claramunt could easily tell a hatchery fish from a natural reproduction by examining for a clipped fin. This dandy lake trout was from natural reproduction.
