good morning from the studio 57 newsroom at cbs news headquarters here in new york. good with yo i m anne-marie green. former trump campaign chairman paul manafort is accused of violating his plea deal with the government. a possible setback for the russia investigation. court documents reveal special counsel robert mueller claims manafort repeatedly lied to federal investigators. manafort was convicted of financial crimes in august before reaching an agreement in september to cooperate with mueller s russia investigation. manafort faces the possibility of additional prison time and more criminal charges now. it also means mueller s team is losing a key cooperating witness from mr. trump s presidential campaign. manafort, who remains in jail, denied that he lied. his lawyers say he believes he provided truthful information. and some devastating news for gm employees. america s biggest automaker says it is cutting as many as 14,000 jobs in the u.s. and canada. five gm plan

it was also the storm surge which blasted through from the gulf of mexico right through town and pretty much every home is either destroyed, flattened you turned into kindling and strewn about the neighborhood or partially standing, still, but ripped completely open and ruined. all of the shellshocked residents returning to see the damage as well as all the first responders from multiple states here doing the search- and-rescue operations. they all say the same word, once they get here and look around: catastrophe. and it absolutely is. it is devastation block after block after block. many of the homes were simply washed up by the ocean pushed over into the next neighborhood across the street slamming into those homes causing even further damage. residents who rode this out have unbelievable stories to tell. we talked to one guy, steve ramsey. he and his dogs decided to ride it out just down the street. when the water started rising fast in his house, he got out with the dogs
